Who We Are ~ Junior League of Norman

The Junior League of Norman has served the Norman community since 1975.  The membership consists of approximately 350 women from a variety of life styles and stages.  The JLN includes single women, married women, professional women, stay-at-home moms, ~ women who work full-time, part-time and even grandmothers who are all at different stages of life that promote voluntarism as an essential component of our society. 

The JLN provides thousands of volunteer hours every year to address issues in the Norman community.  The JLN identifies community needs and develops effective and respected programs to serve those needs.  JLN volunteers have a commitment and a passion for voluntarism; they contribute their time, talent, and funds in a variety of ways.

The JLN is a tight-knit group of women that have the opportunity for flexibility in time and commitment with many options to serve as members and leaders on a variety of committees.  The League offers members the opportunity to implement change in the community and to connect with other women with a concern for present and future generations.

The Junior League of Norman is a group of:

• Women looking for a way to give back to our community

• Women maintaining financial stability through our fund development and fundraising

• Women looking for a way to expand leadership skills

• Women communicating and promoting the League’s mission and historical significance to our membership and the community

• Women interested in developing lasting friendships

JLN reaches out to women of all races, religions and national origins who demonstrate an interest in and a commitment to voluntarism. JLN members donate hundreds of hours each year through hands-on work on our projects. In addition, JLN is proud to offer financial support to other nonprofit agencies in our area. 

JLN offers women the opportunity to improve the Norman community through the League's projects.

Our purpose is exclusively educational and charitable. We will accomplish our mission by:

• Providing a motivating and supportive environment that stimulates members.

• Participation increasing our impact in the Norman community by effectively coordinating our resources with community needs.

• Maintaining financial stability through our fund development and fundraising events.

• Providing comprehensive training opportunities to develop volunteers to better serve the community.

• Communicating and promoting the organization's mission and historical significance to our membership and the community.
