How to Join



The Junior League of Norman, Inc. is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving our community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.

Each year, new volunteers join the Junior League, recharging us with fresh enthusiasm, commitment, and talent. The first year of membership is called the New Member year and is devoted to learning about Junior League and the methods we utilize to meet the needs of our community. Along the way, our goal is to elicit the best in all new members, as new members bring out the best in us.

The New Member program is designed to familiarize everyone with the workings of the League. After the mandatory training meeting in August, there will be meetings throughout the year to spotlight important facets of our organization. This includes leadership, community projects, fundraisers, bylaws, policies, and our internal placement process. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to experience “hands on” by serving on a committee. Training sessions, conducted through evening meetings, are specifically designed to enrich personal development and your understanding of the League. Our pledge to you is to make these meetings informative, interesting, and worthwhile.

If you are interested in joining, please look over the general information and requirements, and submit the Member Interest Form to be emailed an application. Please feel free to contact the Junior League of Norman with any questions or concerns. Upon completion of the new member program, you will have developed an appreciation for the Junior League of Norman and we are hopeful that the merits of this city will spark a commitment to volunteerism – you can make a difference!
