Norman, OK – Instead of hosting its annual Christmas party this year for employees and their families, Floyd’s RV made the decision to donate the ear-marked money to help children and families in Norman.
Being a part of the Norman community for 52 years, Floyd’s mission has always been to give back, and partnering with Junior League of Norman is a natural fit. For years Floyd’s has been partnering with Junior League and this is another extension of the work that Floyd’s and Junior League have continued to do in Norman
Floyd’s was started around the love of camping and bringing the peaceful camping atmosphere to the dealership is of utmost importance. Sharing this love of camping to our customers year after year has been quintessential to the success of our family-owned business.
“…and we want to bring that love of peace and tranquility to Norman families this holiday season. We’ve been blessed, and to bless other families for Christmas is definitely the best gift we can give during these trying and uncertain times.” – Owner Tina Floyd
“In Norman, without putting a pencil to it, we’ve donated a quarter of a million and up to our local community. We definitely tithe and give back not just with our time but financially too, it’s something bigger than ourselves.” – Owner Robert Floyd
Junior League of Norman is an organization of women committed to promoting volunteerism, developing the potential of women and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable, and this year Junior League was able to go above and beyond with generous donations to deliver hygiene kits and increased food deliveries to local schools with families in need.
“The Junior League of Norman is appreciative of the generous donation from Floyd’s RVs, their donation will help support our community programs like Food for Kids and Baby Steps. Baby Steps is a free Early Head Start for the children of Norman Public School students, this program allows teen parents to focus on school and earn their diploma while their children receive quality early education services. Currently, the Baby Steps Program has 11 children enrolled that we help support. Especially during these difficult times, more emergency requests from the parents arise and we use these donations to cover immediate needs of the parents and children. Recently, there was an emergency request for formula because a parent had run out of funds, through donations we were able to get 4 cans of formula to that parent immediately. Floyd’s RVs donation will help us to continue our mission and cover emergency requests.” –Junior League of Norman President Courtney Floyd
Floyd’s RV’s promise to Oklahoma: Commitment to the community, jobs, 52 years of RV expertise, loyalty, a huge RV selection, a place where RV’ers are welcome for service, and more.
